Do you know if the house you designed has been built the right way?

Well, chances are you can’t, especially when it comes to proper installation of dry wall, sub-flooring or hidden components.
Construction Work
For example, industry and most manufacturer standards require that a standard 4’x8’ sheet of dry wall be fastened four times over its 4-foot-width: at the top followed by fasteners at 16” intervals, meaning the 16”, 32” and 48” center lines.

Or that these same drywall standards call for three top coats of dry wall compound, with a complete sanding job between coats, before the painters come in to prime and paint.

Well, those are the standards. Standards that the professional, independent home inspectors at Tomacor know are routinely violated. Same thing with sub-floors. Tom Corbett will tell you that he regularly sees sub-flooring installations that violate industry and manufacturer construction standards.

Well, so what? What does it matter? Plenty, if it’s your design, because your exposure to liability for shoddy workmanship doesn’t disappear once your design is done. If the contractor doesn’t do it right, you’re on the hot seat, too. Everyone blames the design.

You can avoid this potential catastrophe!

It’s to your advantage to recommend to the homeowner to retain a professional, independent home inspector to monitor the construction process. Tom Corbett and the home inspectors at Tomacor know the standards. They also know how to ensure those standards are being met.

They assess the quality of the construction work and make appropriate recommendations, which may include either non-payment or minor percentage payouts on the shoddy work.

What you don’t know can hurt.
Let TOMACOR ensure that your design
isn’t compromised by shoddy construction!
